 Abstract:  This collection consists of letters, memorabilia and photographs pertaining to the river trips and work of Haldane "Buzz" Holmstrom. River trips include a 1934 solo run of the Rogue River in Oregon, a second Rogue run in 1935, a 1936 solo run of the Salmon and Snake rivers in Idaho, a 1937 solo trip down the Green and Colorado in 1938, and a 1939 boat trip from the Pacific to the Atlantic; uprunning Hells Canyon on the Snake river in Idaho. There are many letters to and from Holmstrom pertaining to these trips, as well as his 3 years of service as a PT boat carpenter during World War II.

The Arizona Historical Society- Flagstaff Ephemera, General Photo, and Oral History collections have been transferred to the AHS- Tempe location for processing. Collection access and reference will be provided by the Tempe archives staff during the project.
